Is this Good Bye?
What a great experience this has been. Meeting new people, talking about common interests. And the fact that they are across the WORLD from us, amazes me. This has been of great interest to me and I would first like to thank Sue Waters, and Ms. Wyatt from Australia for coming up with such a marvelous idea. I was very inexperienced at the start of this competition pertaining to blogging. But the instructions the activities for posts were truly interesting and it motivated me to write whatever I felt should be written. These blogs really inspire young students to become independent when necessary. I really appreciate the time I spent doing the activities in this competition, it was a great experience.
I have made a drastic improvement in blogging with the help of this competition. During the competition time I have written over 20 posts. Not because of the competition only for it only consisted of 10 weeks. The competition motivated me to share myself to the world in the appropriate way. I received over 170 comments. I really appreciated this; it showed me that people were actually interested in what they were reading. With that I have had over 150 visitors. Though I wasn’t the only blog in the world, and while in STUBC08 I was very withheld to reading other people blogs from within my own interest. It was great to see the diversity of children’s interests, hobbies, and so much more all over the world. It turns out that someone 8,000 miles away, was not different from me at all. Of course there will be different interests, but we’re all the same in at least one way, and it was cool to see this for myself. And in seeing those blogs, I left at least 100 comments on the other blogs. I was very disappointed not to be drawn into conversation from someone over in Australia, but it was still great to at least be talking to someone.
In my opinion, my best post was Rays Fail to Clinch East. It may have not been to many, but I am a die hard baseball fan. And I took the time to transition myself to the shoes of a baseball commentator and it felt good to just be able to talk like they would, and speak of sports as they would. It wasn’t so long, it wasn’t intricate to the point it was amazing, it was just simple. And I like simplicity. One day, if I don’t make it to a professional level in baseball, I hope to be around sports at all times, and most likely be a commentator. This competition improved my blogging, boosted my motivation, and helped push my knowledge and realize the perpetuity of thinking. It wasn’t the biggest thing ever, but you could definitely make your time worth while in this competition. When writing to an audience as big as the world, nothing changed, which is another thing that has changed. I was never a shy kid, but I am very worried about what people think of me. This competition built my confidence of my knowledge. I am no longer afraid of sharing what I believe in or want to stand for. It was just overall a great thing for all students.
Again this was a great idea and I thank Sue Waters and Ms. Wyatt with ample gratitude. I couldn’t appreciate more the time and dedication they put into trying to make a difference in the students all over the world. They have truly made a difference. I thank them once more, I hope to be in touch with them, and it was nice meeting all you from the world!!
Anything you want…do it
